I use this everyday with my 2009 CalorieKing Calorie Counter. Together, they’ve helped me lose 25 pounds. I used to believe if I didn’t write it, it didn’t count. So wrong! The book is uncomplicated and I can secret it in my purse so no one sees my keeping track of my calories.
4 Stars The Calorie King Food & Exercise Journal
It was in perfect condition and came
when the seller said it would. I was
very pleased.
5 Stars Well-organized
This journal fits nicely in any purse and contains many helpful tips for eating healthy. It makes a great gift!
4 Stars Perfect journal to keep with you
This Journal is the perfect little book for carrying around in purse or pocket. The space allowed for recording food & excersize is just enough for the intended purpose and the hints provided are very useful. the only thing I might change is to make it spiral bound for ease of use.
5 Stars Valuable Tool
I find this journal to be of great help. I have tried several but find this one fits into any plan I follow and its small size makes it portable. With this tool I am less likely to cheat or sabotage myself.

4 Stars Great DVD!
This DVD is great…I love Laura Hudson and have used her other DVD’s in the past. This workout is very challenging and probably not for beginners but great for those who are bored with all the standard pilates moves. I also LOVE the 10 minute solution series because you can really tailor your workout to the amount of time you have on a given day.
5 Stars Pilates is CD great!!!
I love the way this CD is set up. You can choose to do all, or an individual target area workout. The exercises and easy and affective.
5 Stars I love pilates!
Before I got this DVD, I was not aware how great pilates is! Lara is great too. The workouts really isolate the muscle you are working on. I highly recommend to anyone who wants to get the most for their time.
4 Stars Good intro to pilates
Great alternative to a strength workout. The section called Total Body Blast is listed here as “a real calorie burner.” Umm. No. Nothing on here is cardio. It’s all resistance - using your own body weight. You won’t get any cardio benefits and you won’t ache the next day like a strength routine. Good if you’re really sore and need an easy day. I like the routines on this one better than the regular 10 minute pilats - more interesting and not as basic.
5 Stars 10 Minute Solution
This DVD is dynamite! It really targets the appropriate areas and saves time as well.

1 Star Too much Hindu religion in it and too fast paced
I wish someone had told me what I wrote below before I bought this DVD. I am going to return it and post my review below on amazon.com so others can see what goes in this DVD. I cannot do it with a clear conscience. and no matter how hard I try, I cannot erase the images of worship dancers and the huge budda images in my head when I watch this DVD.
After reading the rave reviews on amazon.com, I decided to buy this DVD, Shiva Rea Shakti yoga DVD. It is a HUGE mistake.. Today I saw the negative reviews that I didn’t see three weeks ago and I wish they were available then. I will return this DVD and buy Bryan Kest instead. I hope my review will help you make informed decisions if you are considering buying this DVD.
Things I do not like about this DVD:
1. I do not like the Hindu religion integrated throughout the DVD. There are worship dancers, drums, gongs, chanting music as well as images. When Shiva Rea does the dance like yoga flow, there is this group of worship dancers on the screen. During each transitional period for titles of sessions to show on the screen, there are Hindu dancers, images, which are highly distractive. When she does the shoulder stand flow, she is in the building with a huge budda head statue on the wall with it being focused and shown on the screen for unnecessary time. For anyone who doesn’t want to have anything with the religious part, I recommend that you not buy this DVD.
2. Some people comment that it is too-fast paced to follow. After viewing it, I find that it is so true and it is because Shiva Rea is dancing the trance dance along with the worshipers.
3. You spend too much time trying to watch the video while your head should be facing down or up in the poses. There is not enough instruction at all for me to be able to follow it without having to strain my neck to watch her. You should be able to do it with just the verbal clues.
I love doing yoga poses to relieve pain and stress and become flexible. I do not want to have anything to do with the religious part. I would like something that I will be able to do without having to watch the screen all the time after following it a couple time. I regret the money I wasted on this one.
3 Stars Too fast for beginners
As stated elsewhere, you must preview this video many times in order to understand the verbal clues Shiva is giving so as to know what you should be doing. You cannot watch the TV and participate in the Yoga training easily.
Good points:
You can grow with this video. It has poses beginners can do with care and many more that a beginner and intermediate can expire to. Once you are flexible enough and know the poses so that you can move quickly from one to the other, you will have a very good workout. The 4 standard workouts ae good. You have two short beginner workouts in the basic and lunar flows. Then you have the longer solar 1 and 2 workouts for intermediates.
Not so good points
The matrix is a good idea but the flow of movement and breathing from selection to selection is interrupted by the start-up music and art of the next. Production is a bit spotty, especially if you are used to Rodney Yee. Sound, camera work is to be expected as Shiva states this was done on a quick whim.
5 Stars Wonderful DVD, Great Variety
Like most of the other reviews I love the options on this DVD. I think it’s well worth the money. If you can only buy one yoga dvd, this is a great one because of the variety of workouts. It also has a music only option and will be useful in creating your own routines. I love Shiva, but my complaint is that this particular DVD is not for totally FRESH beginners. You should know some of the basic poses already because she doesn’t explain them (in my opinion) thoroughly enough for a rookie. Great quality, and she is totally in line with what I want out of yoga. I love how she uses Sanskrit verbage. It reminds me so much of my old yoga class.
5 Stars Like a new yoga class everyday
This is a great DVD. With the matrix you can personalize your routine. One day do hip openers and the next time you work out stretch and flow in another area of your body. COncentrate on all areas and do it in the time you have - you can make your workout 20 minutes or over an hour - whatever you want. This is not Top 40 Yoga - this is the real deal. Shiva Rea knows what she is doing and this is about peace within yourself and working your body. Beautiful flowing postures and the filming is gorgeous. Don’t wait - immerse yourself in the flow.
5 Stars a beautiful yoga system
This is in my opinion, the best yoga dvd I have ever purchased. It lush with gorgeous scenery, and the music is totally cool. I spend 5-6 days a week dancing, so I use this every Sunday to balance out my training. Shiva Rea is a great instructor, although I must say some of the things are a bit challenging for beginners, but I just fast forward those parts. The other night I put on the lunar flow sequence, and felt so calm and grounded afterwards. I highly reccomend the “lunar flow” for those with insomnia or anxiety issues, both of which I have. Its funny, but I actually prefer this dvd to taking classes. I never thought I would be able to find a dvd better than a yoga class.

5 Stars Very good journal
This journal is very detailed and helps keep you honest with your fitness and weight loss goals.
5 Stars Love it!
I just received this today. I do believe it’s my new favorite thing! I’ve meticulously recorded every step of my weight loss journey with spreadsheets and software. I’m so thrilled that I now have this. There’s TONS of space for recording EVERYTHING! My handwriting’s quite large, so I was a little concerned about space. No problem here. Also, there’s so much room for recording food that a separate food log seems unnecessary. I’m tempted to order another one right now!
5 Stars BodyMinder Workout Journal
This is a very good journal. Side by side pages lets you track food intake as well as exercise. On limit is that there is only space for 4 sets of exercises. This can easily be overcome. Lots of room for tracking 6 meals. Also has a section to record gym membership information. This came in handy when I misplaced mine. The gym called to tell they had found it. There is a section for setting goals and a section for accomplishments. I think this is the best on the market and have bought several.
4 Stars Great book -it covers the whole spectrum
The BodyMinder has it all. I need to keep track of the most important dietary numbers - a well as physical activity. This is the best all-around diary for this purpose I’ve discovered. I only wish it had a full year’s worth of pages for the money.
5 Stars Exactly what i wanted
I have, apparently, the older edition of this book. It is an awesome way to track both workouts and diet. Very good for BFLers and all fitness enthusiasts. I really like how it breaks down reps and sets. Really like the notes section, reminders, water check offs etc. It is also a great size for my purse and my gym bag. I really like the plain, black cover. I get annoyed carrying around journals that SCREAM what they are for (the BLF journals are the worst for that!)- but that’s just me.
Enjoy!

3 Stars Decent Dance Workout
I love doing dance-type exercise DVD’s but I have to admit that this just isn’t one of my favorites. The instructor cues well and is pleasant enough, but the routines just did not appeal to me. I have done other Latin-inspired dance DVD’s that are superior to this one. I wanted to love it, but in my opinion it is just “OK.”
4 Stars dancing experience is helpful
I took dancing for around 14 years (8-22), so I was able to pick up on the footwork fairly quickly (just think: step, ball, change), and I am somewhat used to swiveling my hips. It was still challenging for me and fun to learn the routines. I think it may be hard for people without any dance experience whatsoever. I did not watch the 10 minute tutorial that breaks down each move–I was able to pick it up just in the routine. This is a fun break from some of my weight intense workouts, and it does get my heart pumping. Plus, the girls in the back obviously aren’t ballroom dancers, so I don’t feel completely awkward with some of the moves I’ve never done.
5 Stars This DVD will motivate you
Dance off the Inches: Dance it off Ballroom’s strongest point is that it makes you want to do it! Since I had already exercised for 30 minutes before popping in this DVD, I was so pooped I could hardly dance by the end but the desire to keep going was still there. The moves themselves impressed me. Some of the sample clips on this website for other Dance off the Inches videos tell me that the choreography is especially well done in Dance it off Ballroom. I am in a dance troupe and would generally not use “workout video moves” onstage, but will surely be taking some from this one. I liked the instruction of Kristina Milova as well, and caught on best by doing the actual workout, though the Step Guide definitely helped.
5 Stars Great workout
I love it! Easy to follow and a great dance workout. if you like to dance and want to do a new cardio-workout this is it.
5 Stars Good product if you like to dance!
I really enjoy this dvd. You can view and practice the moves or begin the work out (i suggest practicing the move first unless you have ballroom experience.) Its up tempo and a lot of fun.
