4 Stars Perfect Abs DVD
This is a pretty decent DVD with a wide varity of workouts to choose from. One thing I did not like was the form the instructor used while performing the crunches. Many of us are taught not to pull on our neck while doing crunches yet she did it each time. If I was new to doing crunches and used her form I could hurt myself but luckly I am a seasoned vet to working out. I love to challenge myself with the latest workout trends. Overall I give this DVD 4 stars because my abs are in pain when I’m finished each time without fail. Great Workout DVD!

5 Stars Effective
I have an elliptical at home and I also do some weights for my arms and back. I was lacking on a toned mid section and after just 2 months of adding this program into my routine (after the elliptical, 3x a week), for the first time in years I’m looking forward to the summer. I’m going to wear a two-piece.

5 Stars Excellent video
I’m not a beginner and this video made me sweat. Nice music, good exercises, good instructions. I liked it and recomend it to my friends

5 Stars Great Workout
The workouts provide a good selection of different routines, with a few easier ones and a few more stepped up routines, that mix up a good amount of different ab exercises in each routine so they are all nicely different from one another, yet each work well.

I have been using it 3-4 times a week for the last 3 months or so and am very pleased with the results so far.

4 Stars Pretty Good
Okay so I have these sudden fitness fits sometimes where I just have to get into amazing shape. I bought this a few weeks ago, and I love it. In the mornings right before breakfast I choose one workout, which only takes 8-9 minutes. The first few days I couldn’t make it through the whole workout, it was nonstop pain! On the third or fourth time I tried it though, I got through one beginner workout! I am seeing more results fast, and I was pleasantly surprised when I got to tennis and I could run a lot more than usual, it was also weird because I noticed I was engaging my abs.

Once each morning, 5 days out of the week. Great.

2 Stars The originaly was MUCH better
I used to have the 8 minute workout (2 disk combo), I used it regularly to keep in shape and it work WONDERS. Now after I had my daughter I was looking to buy the DVDs to get back into shape again; this workout is nothing compared to the original, which was MUCH more intense had you sweating and you could FEEL the burn. This newer version gave me a workout but not to the point that i could feel the burn and I haven’t worked out in 9 months!! I understand updating the DVD but they shoudn’t have changed the workouts

4 Stars Effective & Simple
This video provides a simple and effective means of improving muscle tone. It’s good for when you want to get in a quick excercise in between the daily errands.

4 Stars great ab workout
this is a great ab workout…I use it in a confined space. A different workout that I would normally do…and I can feel the burn.

4 Stars DVD
It looks so easy, but when you are done, you will feel the burn, the pain and the work you have done! Thank God it is only 8 minutes! It works, but be prepared to hurt. And as you know, no pain, no gain!

3 Stars NOT FOR BEGINNERS
THis is definitely not for beginners especially the abs section. The other workouts are OK. So if you are out of shape, think twice before getting this one.

5 Stars having fun with pilates
When I received the Pilates tape, I was a little skeptical about starting, I was sure it would be too hard to follow - I am 69yrs old! But to my delight, with the exception of some of the back stretches, I found it to be quite easy and fun, and very easy to follow. I’d recommend theis tape to anyone who wants to get fit quickly, and has a few minutes to spend on themselves.

2 Stars Not for me
I ordered this video because of all the nice comments it received. I did not like it. There is too much talking between the workouts and I got bored really quickly. This may be good for someone who need lots and lots of instruction, but it’s not for me.

5 Stars Another good one
I have other DVDs that feature Maggie so when I was looking for a Pilates DVD this one stood out for me. She’s really good at teaching newbies. Pleasant personality, encouraging and good instruction. This DVD also has lots of routines on it so you aren’t just doing the same 2 or 3 over an over.

5 Stars Good for Beginners
Like it says, this is a beginner DVD. I have a few different Pilates DVDs and they are all a little different as far as what order the instructor does the series of exercises and how the way they break down the options for different workouts. Being new I just wanted to learn the moves and have more then one workout to choose from. This DVD has been good for learning and I like the breakdown of the workouts. I like having choices other then a full half hour or longer routine.

5 Stars Great
I am new to Pilates and picked this up to learn how to do it properly.

A good selection for me, with one section that goes through and teaches well on how to do Pilates including a longer routine that is still geared to making it a bit easier, though you get a good workout.

The second section dials things up a bit and real good workouts. The nice thing about Pilates is when you follow along you get a good workout without having to do many, many repetitions and a good workout can be had in a short time. Happy I added Pilates to my workouts.

Yoga For Inflexible People

Yoga For Inflexible People

Yoga For Inflexible People is for anyone who considers themselves inflexible. The yoga postures developed 5,000 years ago were not created for people who are already flexible, but rather to help inflexible people become more flexible. A wide range of poses are taught and modified to help both beginning and intermediate students experience the benefits of yoga. The modifications includes suggestions for the use of props, which can be either actual yoga props or items you have around the home, such as a belt or books, to assist you when you feel you need additional assistance. Of course if you do not need props, you do not have to use any.

Customized workouts allow you to progress at your own pace and the DVD contains dozens of routines which designed to carefully guide you along your journey into yoga.

When Yoga For Inflexible People was released, the Yoga Journal declared it “One of the most intelligent and useful presentations served up in a long time” and praised it as a DVD “…for all beginning students whether they are inflexible or flexible.”

Yoga For Inflexible People continued to be commended as the Yoga Journal rated the DVD as one the Top Yoga DVDs ever produced. (December 2006)

User Ratings and Reviews

1 Star My pillow needs a pillow. Completely useless, unless you count it as a sleeping aid.
I actually purchased this video to ease my less than flexible boyfriend into yoga. Unfortunately, this DVD was so dull that its sorta soured his experience with the whole thing.

The DVD creator’s idea of “yoga for inflexible” people is comprised of a whole lot of standing around with outstretched arms and legs. Not even joking. Yes, this DVD is targeted for inflexible people - but I think that she could have challenged them with a little more than that. If you are looking for yoga for beginner inflexible people - please look elsewhere. In fact, if you do come across a good source, please let me know because I’m still on the search for a good DVD to introduce him to the world of yoga without putting him to sleep.

5 Stars Worked Well
The limited flexibility I had when I was younger has gone and it was starting to impact me when trying to do things, runs made my legs hurt more and picking things up became more of a chore, so I wanted to gain some back.

Working with this DVD has improved things alot. It is very easy to understand and use, most of the time I use the legs section (just pick it from the menu) and up comes about 6 routines to work with. Other sections focus on other aspects.

The pace is just right so that I can follow along without feeling rushed or that I am missing something and it gives me time to get into the pose.

Great to work with.

5 Stars Yoga for Inflexible People
Very satisfied with this DVD. I am a beginner at age 59. Wish I had started yoga at least ten years ago because many of the poses are still quite difficult but I’m hoping with practice, I will get more flexible. There are lots of individual routines (35+) to work on different parts of the body.

1 Star Painfully boaring. I want my money back.
If this DVD were my first experience with Yoga, it would likely be my last. Thank goodness it is not. Boaring, boaring, boaring. I want my money back.

5 Stars A great value
I’m blown away by how much is on this DVD. Over 30 different yoga sessions ranging from 15 minutes to over an hour. I’m just getting started with yoga and I would say I’m starting at a very remedial level. There is instruction on the DVD that is perfect for me. There is also enough here that I’m sure I will be using the DVD for many months and years to come.

5 Stars Great Video
I love this video. It is great for firming and toning while pregnant and can be used in addition to a moderate exercise routine.

3 Stars OK
The video is pretty good. I have a couple others that give me a much better work out. It was inexpensive and I would buy again.

5 Stars I can’t help it, I love Denise Austin
Denise Austin is perpetually spunky and happy and cute. I actually caught myself SMILING throughout the whole DVD because she was telling me to. Most of the pregnancy fitness DVDs on the market are about calming down and relaxing… yoga, etc. It’s nice to actually stand up and do some cardio.

The level of exercise is DEFINITELY moderate, but you can increase it or decrease it depending on the size of the movements you make.

I appreciate that the routines are somewhat easier than normal DVDs - and my pregnancy brain appreciates that, too. I also enjoy that there is a weight-training section.

I’d say buy it! Especially for that price.

4 Stars Great work out for all stages of pregnacy
You will use this video! I like it because it is low impact so I do it on the days I’m feeling tired too. It’s a great all over work out that will make you feel refreshed and energized.

5 Stars GREAT workout for pregnancy!!
I LOVE this video! The workout is not to hard, but it will definately get your heart pumping. Its not to long either, so theres no getting bored or worn out before you complete it. I have recommended this to all my pregnant friends!
